About the Grant
City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK) and the University of Waterloo (UW) in partnership with the Faculty of Health and the Waterloo Institute for Nanotechnology (WIN) are launching an exciting new initiative — the Joint CityUHK–UW Seed Fund — to foster collaborative research in the field of health and life science technologies aligning with Health and Technological Futures. This Seed Fund, a special call under the UW International Research Partnerships Grant (IRPG) scheme aims to promote mobility and exchange of academic staff between our Universities, helping to build a strong institutional track record for future major research platform funding programmes.
Maximum funding request per proposal is up to HK$100,000 + CAD$16,000 per collaborative pair. Additional top up funds will be provided at UW to Faculty of Health or WIN affiliated Principal Investigators, up to a maximum of CAD $26,000 total for the UW co-PI.
Up to 5 projects will be selected in fields of health and life science technologies
Projects must be complete by March 31, 2027.
